Custom Joy-Cons Clear “Game Boy Pocket” Mod - Nintendo Switch Retro Gaming Controllers

In 1996, seven years after the original Game Boy was introduced, Nintendo released the Game Boy Pocket: A smaller and lighter successor to the already iconic handheld gaming console, thin enough to fit in your big pocket :) The Game Boy Pocket also had a true black and white display with reduced sprite blurring, an improved gaming experience compared to the "pea soup" monochromatic display of the original Game Boy. This Joy-Con mod is a tip of the hat from us to this wonderful piece of gaming tech: The Game Boy Pocket, in a clear shell version. If you were an 80s or 90s kid or maybe you are simply passionate about retro gaming, this set of Joy-Cons is an essential addition to your gaming setup. If you love this design, check out our “Famitsu Game Boy” Joy-Con set, a tribute to the Game Boy Pocket’s 1998 backlit screen variant, exclusively released in Japan.
