Turmeric Curcumin Supports a Healthy Immune Response† Curcumin supports a healthy immune response and is important for anyone looking for extra antioxidant support.†  What is Turmeric Curcumin? If you’re not familiar with turmeric and curcumin by now, allow me to introduce you. Turmeric is a root or rhizome plant native to India. Similar to ginger, with a more pungent flavor, and bright reddish-orange flesh, turmeric is widely used in cooking and medicine throughout the world. Most of us here in America think of turmeric as a common kitchen spice, however, turmeric root has gained a great deal of fame lately because of its amazing health benefits. Chock full of carotenoids, curcuminoids, and essential oils called ‘turmerones,’ it turns out turmeric root is brimming with beneficial compounds. The Problem With Most Turmeric Curcumin Supplements Most turmeric and curcumin supplements simply aren't concentrated enough… There are A LOT of turmeric supplements on the market, however, many of them are not at all effective. The active ingredients in turmeric root are powerful phytochemicals called curcuminoids, as well as essential oils called turmerones. Turmeric root is actually only 2 - 5% curcuminoids by weight and is also very low in essential oil compounds. Because of this, most turmeric supplements are extremely lacking in the bioactive components of turmeric that offer all of turmeric’s wonderful health benefits.† Curcumin is Not Easily Bioavailable Did you know that curcumin is notoriously NOT bioavailable? That’s right, curcumin has famously poor absorption, biodistribution, metabolism, and bioavailability. Many curcumin supplements not only have low percentages of useful bioactive compounds, but they also are very poorly absorbed. What little is absorbed is usually immediately metabolized by your liver. Because of this fact, many supplement manufacturers have relied on tricky methods to enhance the bioavailability of their products. My Curcumin Super Soluble is Ultra Absorbable My fat-soluble Curcumin is made with BCM-95® turmeric extract for optimal bioavailability. BCM-95® is a very special kind of turmeric extract.
