Cunningham 5'4" Studio Grand Piano

The Cunningham 5'4" Studio Grand Piano: A Modern Classic with a Rich Heritage A Legacy Reborn The Cunningham 5'4" Studio Grand Piano embodies a unique blend of historical excellence and contemporary craftsmanship. Rooted in the rich legacy of Patrick Cunningham, an Irish immigrant who founded the Cunningham Piano Company in Philadelphia in 1891, this piano carries forward a tradition of unmatched quality. Amidst the golden age of American piano manufacturing, Cunningham pianos earned the title of the "Matchless Cunningham Piano," a testament to their superior quality that no competitor could surpass. This instrument is a modern homage to that unmatched legacy, reimagined for today's pianists. Crafted with the World's Finest Materials In our quest to resurrect the illustrious Cunningham sound without the premium price, we sourced unparalleled components from across the globe. Strings from Roslau, Germany, known for producing the best piano strings worldwide, custom hammers from the esteemed Abel company, Italian keys, and a Japanese action comparable to Renner, are just a few of the world-class materials that compose this piano. The rim is fashioned from American hardwood maple, and the soundboard from white Canadian spruce, ensuring a sound that's as rich as its heritage. Design Excellence Meets Acoustic Innovation Our collaboration with Frank Emerson, a renowned scale designer, to update Patrick Cunningham's original blueprints has resulted in a piano that meets modern standards while preserving its historical essence. This Studio Grand, with its wider tail, offers extended string length and a larger soundboard area, producing a sound of surprising richness and depth for its size. It's an instrument that defies expectations, offering the sonorous bass and clear treble of much larger grand pianos.
