Quick Facts: ABV: 40%  |  Origin: Jalisco, Mexico  |  Mixto Silver (Blanco)  |  Distillery: La Rojeña Production & Heritage Jose Cuervo holds the distinction of being the world's oldest tequila producer, with over 230 years of continuous operation. La Rojeña distillery, located in the town of Tequila in Jalisco, sources blue agave from the family's own estate. The spirit is classified as a mixto, meaning it contains a minimum of 51% blue Weber agave with the balance derived from other sugars, typically sugarcane. It undergoes double distillation and is unaged, going directly into bottle to preserve a clean, bright agave character. Cuervo was also the first brand to individually bottle tequila, a practice that helped establish modern tequila production standards. Tasting Notes Aroma: Fresh and clean on the nose, leading with raw blue agave and a grassy, herbaceous quality. Subtle citrus notes emerge alongside a faint hint of vanilla as the spirit opens up. Taste: The entry is crisp and slightly sweet, with blue agave at the center. Mid-palate brings earthy, grassy tones layered with a flicker of citrus brightness. A mild caramel sweetness and fresh herb character round out the palate before giving way to gentle spice. Finish: Short and warm, with a peppery kick and a fleeting touch of mint. The overall impression is clean and uncomplicated, designed for easy mixing rather than extended contemplation. How to Drink Cuervo Silver Cuervo Silver is purpose-built for cocktails and mixed drinks, where its clean agave backbone and peppery bite hold their own against bold mixers. The 1.75L handle makes it a practical choice for batch cocktails and high-volume entertaining. Margarita: The citrus and agave notes integrate seamlessly with fresh lime juice and orange liqueur, producing a balanced, crowd-pleasing classic. Paloma: The grassy, peppery profile pairs naturally with grapefruit soda and a pinch of salt for a refreshing, low-effort highball. Tequila Sunrise: Its clean, slightly sweet character acts as a neutral canvas for grenadine and fresh orange juice without competing flavors.
