Cthulhu: Dark Providence

The Elder Ones work their influences on mortal minds in many ways. No one is really sure who is held under their sway. Is someone trying to stop them or support them? It’s impossible to tell and yet, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Cthulhu: Dark Providence is a new take on Martin Wallace’s A Study in Emerald, which combines deck building mechanics, secret agendas, and the works of H.P. Lovecraft. As the Great Depression rages, cultists look to work their influence on the United States, twisting it into a nightmare version while Investigators are working to stop them. SECRET ROLES: Dive into a mysterious world where players are secretly divided into Cultists, Investigators, and Dissidents, each with unique win conditions. Trust no one as you navigate through hidden agendas. DECKBUILDING DYNAMICS: Master the art of deckbuilding to support your secret role. Strategically collect vital cards and thwart opponents by keeping crucial resources out of their hands. SANITY MECHANISM: Engage with a sanity system where keeping your wits is as crucial as your strategies. Investigators must maintain their sanity, while Cultists may benefit from descending into madness. HISTORICAL BACKDROP: Set against the grim backdrop of the Great Depression, this game infuses historical elements with the eerie mythos of H.P. Lovecraft’s universe. IMMERSIVE COMPONENTS: The game includes a rich array of components such as a game board, player dashboards, colored cubes, tarot cards, tokens, and more, enhancing the thematic experience.
