1 oz Silver Bar — Engelhard (Tall Eagle Design). Serial #FU87202. .999 Fine Silver.

This is a genuine 1 Troy Ounce Engelhard Silver Bar — Tall Eagle Design, serial number #FU87202, containing .999 fine silver. The Tall Eagle design is the final and most iconic of all Engelhard 1 oz bar designs, featuring an eagle with wings spread carrying the American flag and an olive branch, with the Engelhard logo, fineness, weight, and serial number stamped on the obverse. The reverse displays the repeating diagonal Engelhard logo pattern. Engelhard Corporation was once the largest precious metals refiner and smelter in the world, and their silver bars remain among the most trusted and sought-after vintage bullion products ever produced in the United States. Engelhard ceased producing silver bars in the mid-1980s, and the company was subsequently acquired by BASF in 2006 — meaning no new Engelhard bars will ever enter the market. The total 1 oz production run across all designs is estimated at just 4 million units, a figure dwarfed by a single month of modern American Silver Eagle production. As the existing supply is slowly absorbed into collections or melted, genuine examples become increasingly difficult to source. This bar presents in secondary market condition, displaying light handling and light toning consistent with its age — entirely normal and expected for a bar of this vintage, and in no way affecting its silver content or authenticity. The serial number #FU87202 is clearly stamped and fully legible, confirming genuine Engelhard production. Whether you are a bullion investor seeking a tangible store of value, a collector of vintage American precious metals, or simply someone who appreciates the history and craftsmanship behind the Engelhard name, this Tall Eagle bar is a compelling addition to any holding.
