Camellia sinensis 'Dave's Fave'

This cultivar was selected by owner David Parks for its rounded leaves and short internodes.  Exceptionally dark green leaves have pronounced serrations and remain shiny through maturity.  'Dave's Fave' is a vigorous, well-shaped shrub with woody stalks that makes a fantastic hedge.  A seedling from Chinese seed of unknown origin. This one has survived 3 degrees Fahrenheit without injury. The larger flower produces a small amount of seed.  A Camellia Forest introduction. We recently found out that 'Dave's Fave' is triploid, which may explain its vigor. Zones 7a-9 Average mature leaf size: 4.25" x 2.5" 10 year size: 8'T x 8'W
