A Note From the Artist I struggled with this piece for a long time. Sometimes when I get stuck, I like to scroll through the Library of Congress’ public domain image set. I ended up finding this illustration from the mid-1800s (Victorian era) of a ghost and a dog. The book was about ghost identification, or something. I redrew the illustration in Procreate and got hooked on the idea that it represented this unchecked abuse of power.
