Crown Royal Texas Mesquite Blended Canadian Whisky 750ml

Crown Royal Texas Mesquite is a discontinued, limited edition Canadian whisky from the Crown Royal Distilling Company, originally launched in May 2018 as the brand's first ever regional release in tribute to the long standing love affair between Texas and Crown Royal that began in the late 1950s when Canadian oil workers brought their whisky of choice to the Lone Star State. Built on the foundation of Crown Royal Fine De Luxe blended Canadian whisky, distilled at the iconic Gimli Distillery on the western shore of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, the spirit is then infused with the smoky character of locally sourced Texas mesquite wood, the same wood revered in Texas barbecue traditions. The result is a savory, sweet, and surprisingly smooth whisky that pairs the creamy backbone of Crown Royal with rustic notes of mesquite smoke, BBQ spice, molasses, and warm oak. Bottled at 40% ABV and 80 proof in a wood grain themed label inside the iconic crown shaped decanter with a star and stripes neck wrap nodding to the Texas flag. Now discontinued and increasingly hard to find, this is a genuine collector's piece for Crown Royal completists, BBQ enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates the brand's rare regional editions. No. Texas Mesquite was a one time limited edition release launched in May 2018 as Crown Royal's first regional themed bottling, and it has since been discontinued. Remaining stock continues to circulate through retailers, making this a true back vintage and collector's piece for fans of the brand. How is Texas Mesquite different from regular Crown Royal? The base is the same Crown Royal Fine De Luxe blended Canadian whisky from Gimli, Manitoba, but Texas Mesquite is infused with the smoky character of locally sourced Texas mesquite wood, the same wood used in regional Texas BBQ. The result is a savory, smoky, slightly sweet expression that the standard purple bag bottling does not deliver. How should I drink Crown Royal Texas Mesquite? Best enjoyed neat to fully appreciate the mesquite smoke and Crown Royal smoothness, or on the rocks with a single large cube. The brand also recommends pairing it with smoked meats or barbecue, and it works beautifully in a Texas Mesquite Mule, a smoky Old Fashioned, or any cocktail where a hint of BBQ smoke would shine.
