Crown Royal Special Edition 1990's

Experience a rare piece of Canadian whisky history with the Crown Royal Special Edition 1990. This exceptionally smooth blend, crafted over three decades ago, offers a nuanced journey of soft sweetness and delicate spice. A true collector's item, it exemplifies the elegance and approachability for which Crown Royal is renowned. Tasting Notes Nose: Initial delicate floral notes mingle with soft vanilla bean and a whisper of green apple. As it opens, a subtle maple sweetness emerges, underpinned by very light oak and a hint of corn sweetness, characteristic of a well-aged Canadian whisky. There's a faint echo of tropical fruit, like dried apricot, in the background. Palate: Extremely smooth and approachable, the 80 proof contributes to its silky texture. The palate confirms the nose's gentle sweetness, with prominent vanilla and soft caramel. Delicate rye spice, reminiscent of white pepper, offers a pleasant counterpoint to the maple and corn. A light fruitiness persists, perhaps a hint of pear or golden raisin. The oak influence is present but exceptionally well-integrated, providing structure without bitterness. Finish: Clean, medium-short, and remarkably smooth. The sweetness gently fades, leaving behind a faint warmth and a pleasant, lingering echo of vanilla and a very subtle, almost creamy, spice. No harshness or heat whatsoever, inviting another sip.
