Cross Foundry Ballpoint Pen - Black

The Cross Foundry Ballpoint Pen in Glossy Black Lacquer with PVD Gold Appointments is the collection's most visually authoritative expression — a pen where a deep, high-gloss black barrel meets warm gold PVD trim in a pairing that signals confident, considered taste rather than ornamentation for its own sake. The Foundry name honors the historic Cross Foundry building and the elemental craft of transforming raw material into enduring, purposeful form. In this pen, that tradition is embodied in a refined daily instrument with superior balance, quality construction, and a finish combination — glossy black lacquer body with gold-plated clip, cap ring, and appointments — that elevates it well above comparable instruments at its price point. Cross's swivel-action propel/repel mechanism deploys the medium ballpoint tip with smooth, responsive precision, while specially formulated Cross ink flows immediately on contact with paper, delivering consistent lines without skipping, pooling, or hesitation through every signature, note, and document. Pre-loaded with a black medium ballpoint refill (#8513) and packaged in a standard Cross gift box, this pen is ready for immediate daily use or direct gifting. Compatible with all standard Cross ballpoint refills and protected by Cross's lifetime mechanical warranty, the Glossy Black Gold Foundry Ballpoint is a pen that wears well and performs reliably — day after day, milestone after milestone. Features Glossy Black Lacquer Body with PVD Gold Appointments: A deep, mirror-bright black lacquer barrel combined with polished gold PVD clip and fittings creates a classic, high-contrast pairing that projects professional sophistication — a timeless combination that never loses relevance in any setting. Swivel-Action Propel/Repel Mechanism: Cross's precision twist-action mechanism deploys and retracts the medium ballpoint tip smoothly and reliably, protecting the nib in pockets and bags while keeping the pen ready to perform with a single turn. Specially Formulated Cross Ballpoint Ink: Proprietary Cross ink starts immediately on first contact with paper, flowing consistently through extended writing without skipping, pooling, or bleed-through — reliable performance that doesn't depend on warm-up strokes or pressure.
