Wow! This Identity Crisis Just Keeps Going!, by Kat Freeze

Poetry, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features. This collection presents an unfiltered rapid‑fire series of poems that capture the restless energy of today’s self-conception. With humor, raw honesty, and vivid imagery, Kat Freeze interrogates romance, sexuality, mental health, and technology in equal measure. For anyone who has ever felt that the self is a shifting mosaic, this collection offers an engaging, honest, and thought-provoking companion. Freeze’s diction oscillates between the poetic and the colloquial, turning mundane moments into powerful metaphors for the constant negotiation of identity in the digital age. Each poem feels like a monologue inviting readers to listen as much as they read. This work stands out for its ability to fuse confessional intimacy with cultural critique and maintains a sharp, aware, and engaged cadence. It challenges readers to confront their own oscillations—between longing and autonomy, vulnerability and performance. Whether used as a reflective afternoon read or a deeper, repeated catharsis, Wow! This Identity Crisis Just Keeps Going! provides a resonant mirror for the modern psyche. Kat Freeze is a Chicago-based poet and spoken word performer.
