Crisbee Stik® Cast Iron Seasoning

The Crisbee Stik® makes cast iron seasoning simple, reliable, and cost-effective. Designed for skillets, Dutch ovens, griddles, and more, this seasoning stick protects cast iron cookware while creating a durable, non-stick surface. Made from natural grapeseed oil and beeswax, the Crisbee Stik bonds to cast iron without becoming brittle or flaking like flaxseed oil. It helps develop a smooth, beautiful finish that lasts through generations of cooking. One Crisbee Stik treats a 10-inch skillet more than 60 times when used as directed—far more economical than traditional seasoning oils, which require large amounts per application. Proudly made in the USA by a family-owned company, this versatile product also works on carbon steel cookware, griddle cooktops, wooden utensils, wood cutting boards, knife handles, and even gun stocks. Unlike other oils, it will not turn rancid, ensuring long-lasting protection for your cookware and tools. For hard-to-reach spots, simply melt a small amount and brush it on with a pastry or BBQ brush. Key Benefits: Perfect for initial seasoning and daily maintenance of cast iron Protects and conditions cast iron, carbon steel, and wood products Long-lasting—over 60 skillet treatments per stick All-natural grapeseed oil and beeswax formula Made in the USA, family owned and operated Ingredients: Grapeseed Oil, Beeswax How to Season Cast Iron with Crisbee Puck® or Crisbee Stik® Initial Seasoning Instructions Preheat your cast iron skillet, Dutch oven, or pan in a 200°F oven for 30 minutes. Lightly apply Crisbee to the cast iron using the Crisbee Puck® or Crisbee Stik®. Spread a thin, even layer with a paper towel over the entire surface. Wipe off as much excess Crisbee as possible with a clean towel until the cast iron looks completely dry. This step prevents sticky residue from forming. Place the cast iron upside down in the oven. Bake at 400°F for one hour. Turn off the oven and let the cast iron cool slowly inside. Repeat steps 1–6 three times for a strong, durable non-stick seasoning. Daily Maintenance Seasoning After cooking, wash your cast iron with warm water (soap is safe—see below) and dry thoroughly. Place the pan on the stovetop over medium-low heat for a few minutes. Remove from heat and apply a light coat of Crisbee to the cooking surface only. Wipe clean with a paper towel until dry. Store your skillet until next use.  Can I Use Soap on Cast Iron? Yes—you can use soap! A common cast iron care myth is that soap will ruin your cast iron seasoning. This belief comes from old-fashioned lye soap, which was caustic and could strip seasoning. However, modern soaps are made through a process called saponification, which neutralizes lye and oils to create soap that is safe for cleaning. That means today’s dish soap won’t damage the non-stick seasoning on your skillet, Dutch oven, or pan. With proper seasoning and maintenance, your cast iron cookware will last for generations.
