Crimson Spire™ Oak Tree

An elegant addition with a narrow, upright form The Crimson Spire™ Oak Tree stands out with its striking vertical growth habit, making it an ideal choice for smaller yards or urban landscapes where space may be limited. This magnificent tree can reach heights of up to 50 feet while maintaining a slender profile of about 15 to 20 feet wide, allowing it to flourish in areas where broader trees would struggle. Its beautiful crimson foliage in the fall adds a vibrant splash of color to your landscape, creating a stunning backdrop as the seasons change. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this oak is a hardy, low-maintenance tree that provides great benefits for your yard. It’s well-suited to a variety of soil types and tolerates urban conditions well, making it perfect for city dwellers. As a fast grower, the Crimson Spire™ Oak will not only enhance the visual appeal of your property but also offer valuable shade, create habitat for wildlife, and improve air quality in your area. Planting & Care 1. Planting: Choose a location that receives full sun for at least 6 to 8 hours a day. The soil should be well-draining; if it’s compacted or heavy clay, consider amending it with organic matter. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep, placing the tree in the center before backfilling with native soil. Water the tree thoroughly after planting, and add a layer of mulch to retain moisture. 2. Watering: During the first year, water your Crimson Spire™ Oak regularly to establish a strong root system. Aim for about 1 inch of water per week; this can include rainfall. Once established, the tree is drought-tolerant but will thrive with occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells. 3. Pruning: Prune only as needed to remove dead or damaged branches, or to shape the tree. The best time to prune is during the dormant season in late winter or early spring. Avoid heavy pruning, as this oak naturally maintains its upright form without much intervention. 4. Fertilizing: An annual application of a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring can help boost growth and enhance foliage color. If you notice slow growth or pale leaves, you may want to perform a soil test to determine if any specific nutrients are deficient. Key reasons to plant this tree: - Unique, narrow growth habit ideal for small spaces or urban settings. - Stunning fall color with crimson foliage that enhances seasonal appeal. - Hardy, low-maintenance tree that supports wildlife and improves air quality.
