Crimson Pygmy Barberry Shrub

Easy to Grow Shrub with Dramatic Color! This is a landscape designer's favorite shrub, giving you excellent dark red foliage for a multitude of ornamental uses. People love this shrub because it gives you incredible color without the maintenance- no pest or disease problems, and it is very drought-tolerant. This means no chemicals are needed to keep that beautiful dark red foliage in prime form. You also get a flurry of small, yellow flowers in the spring. Purple berries follow the flowers, turning red in the winter, providing a source of food for birds. No shearing or pruning is needed. This colorful shrub is naturally compact. It's a dwarf, so it will never get overgrown- perfect for under a window sill or as a driveway hedge. It is a dramatic accent against green shrubs and flowering plants. In warmer areas of the country, your Crimson Pygmy won't drop its leaves in the winter either. The Crimson Pygmy Barberry is ideal for today's smaller yards. It's the perfect solution for the area between your front walkway and the wall of your house. It also looks great in groups of three or more. For easy-to-grow shrubs ready to pack on tons of growth, you want your plants to have well-developed root systems. At Brighter Blooms Nursery, you get older plants with advanced roots. That way, you have a worry-free shrub that you can enjoy from the moment it arrives!
