That throw on over a tee shirt to take out the trash vest; that wallet/keys/phone always in the pocket vest; that ball up and use as a pillow on the plane vest. Less a statement, more a standard, the Italian Vest was built to be your constant companion. Born from a love of the outdoors and expertise gained at early Eddie Bauer, Anne Michelson founded Crescent Down Works in Seattle in 1974, initially creating custom down vests. The company quickly evolved into a full-fledged outerwear line, a hit both domestically and internationally, thanks to its commitment to high-grade materials, local craftsmanship, and ethical sourcing. Remaining fiercely independent and dedicated to its Pacific Northwest roots, Crescent Down Works is still a multi-generational family business, meticulously manufacturing every piece in Seattle today under the guidance of Michelson, her daughter, Annie, and son, Adam.
