Creole Red Garlic

Mid-late season, Creole type. Originating in the Basque region, Creole garlics defy standard classifications, thriving in warmer climates while sometimes producing scapes in cooler regions. Creole Red performs well in both northern and southern gardens, producing attractive white-wrapped bulbs filled with 8–12 cloves covered in striking red skins. Its mild to medium flavor is delicious raw and develops a rich, complex character when cooked. An exceptional keeper, storing 10–12 months under proper conditions. During the growing season, remove any faded outer leaves to prevent collaring.  Garlic is shipped only in the fall—starting in mid-September, depending on the season and the variety.
