Crazy Nights

Solitude. The silence of the late-spring alpine country when it begins to shed its winter snow. The expanse of the Montana night sky so full of stars that you get dizzy looking up. Aurora borealis flickering in the north while the Milky Way streams through the heavens. It's a scene worth the burning legs and shortness of breath that comes with hauling heavy equipment up to the very top of a mountain in the Crazy Range - this island of mountains north of the Yellowstone River. It's the type of scene that makes me so glad I've dedicated my life to spending time in places like this. Alone. With a camera and a tiny tent and a desire to show that the world around us is still something wonderful.  This photo has very pleasing colors, the remarkable detail only capable with a fine, high-resolution medium format camera, and a standard 2:3 aspect ratio. It's available on the world's finest ready-to-hang aluminum for the perfect, nighttime sheen and color pop. Each size is limited to 11 copies, comes signed and numbered, and ships free to all lower 48 states.
