Performance & Benefits This fly does the heavy lifting for you: it imitates a frequently available food source so well that trout treat it like a dinner invitation. The grey tone blends into varied aquatic environments, meaning fewer refusals and more solid takes. Available in sizes #06–#12, it lets you match hatch variability without overpacking your box. Practical outcomes: turns stuck weekends into hero stories, helps you dial in presentation during picky hatch windows, and pairs nicely with a nymph rig or as a dropper behind a larger attractor. Built for midnight trail runs and questionable decisions—or, you know, Sunday morning serenity on the river. Why you'll keep this one in the box It’s reliable, realistic, and low-drama. When crane flies are present—and they are, pretty much everywhere—this grey larva pattern reads as food, not fashion. Toss it in, drift it true, and let the fish do the rest.
