Basic Western Bluebird Trail Box

Create a comfortable and reliable roosting spot for particular bluebirds by placing this Coveside Basic Western Bluebird Trail Box in your bird garden. This hardy abode is constructed of beautiful eastern pine, sustainably sourced by a family owned mill and designed specifically to suit the needs of western bluebirds, giving this larger variety of bluebird the habitat they need to thrive. Each gorgeous panel on this dwelling measures 0.75” thick for maximum durability, and its light hue helps prevent the nest box from overheating in hotter summer months. The rough finish of the wood lends fledglings a steady foothold trying to exit or move throughout the nest. This unit provides ample nesting space, with a generous, slanted roof overhanging the box to direct water away and protect against outdoor elements. An extended gap on each side panel rests just below the roof, further preventing overheating and facilitating proper air flow for the roost. One side of the unit acts as an access panel for observation and convenient cleanings, easily opening when maintenance is required, and held shut by a metal latch when you need to keep the dwelling securely closed. Gaps at each corner of the interior floor encourage extra drainage to keep the nest dry, and a generous predator guard protects the 1.5625" diameter entryway from the invasive behaviors of marauding animals trying to disrupt the activities of the nest. Over time, the natural pine will weather to a lovely gray tone with exposure to the elements, providing transformative beauty to your outdoor locale. Hang this rustic, appealing piece using its back hanger, or you may post mount this quaint home for alternative display. Let feathered friends flourish in your bird sanctuary while protecting them against predators with this Basic Western Bluebird Trail Box. Made in the USA. Opening: 1.5625" dia.
