Course 4: Taping for Muscle Function & Pain Modification

Enhance your clinical skills with Course 4: Kinesiology Taping for Muscle Function & Pain Modification. In this two-part course, healthcare professionals will explore the foundational and advanced applications of kinesiology tape in relation to muscle function and pain modification. Part I focuses on the use of kinesiology tape to influence muscle activation and control, covering neuromuscular facilitation and inhibition strategies grounded in proprioceptive science and clinical reasoning. Part II dives into the neurophysiological mechanisms behind pain perception and modulation, examining how kinesiology tape may engage both peripheral and central nervous system pathways to support pain relief in a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Designed for professionals in the field of Sports Medicine, health practitioners, trainers, or fitness enthusiasts, the course covers both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Upon completion, learners will earn 2.00 Continuing Education Credit and gain valuable skills to integrate into their professional practice. This is course 4 of a 5-part series about kinesiology taping and its uses within the professional environment. INSTRUCTOR KT Tape worked in close collaboration with Dr. Chris Harper, PT, DPT, OCS, to develop our virtual Continuing Education course series. A practicing clinician, educator, and longtime KT Health Medical Advisory Board member, Dr. Harper has integrated kinesiology taping into his treatment approach for over 20 years. He played a key role in developing KT Tape’s original library of taping techniques for common pain points across the body, helping to establish the foundation of KT’s taping methodology. His deep understanding of biomechanics, neurological processes, and taping applications has shaped the course content to reflect evidence-based strategies that elevate both clinical outcomes and confidence in practice. DURATION: 2 Hours CE UNITS ACQUIRED: 2.00 Units WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE: Printable Certificate of Completion for CEUs Post-Course Reference Materials Course Objectives By the end of Course 4: Kinesiology Taping for Muscle Function & Pain Modification, participants will be able to: ✔ Explain how kinesiology tape influences muscle function through cutaneous stimulation and proprioceptive feedback mechanisms ✔ Differentiate between facilitation and inhibition taping techniques and apply them appropriately based on clinical goals and patient presentation ✔ Describe the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying pain modification, including gate control theory and descending inhibitory pathways ✔ Apply kinesiology taping strategies to support both muscle performance and pain reduction across a range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions ✔ Interpret current research related to kinesiology taping for pain modification and muscle function, and apply findings to evidence-informed practice ✔ Identify appropriate tape direction, tension, and configuration to address motor control deficits or pain sensitivity ✔ Integrate kinesiology taping as part of a multimodal care approach in both clinical rehabilitation and athletic performance settings ACCREDITATION Chiropractic: KT Health is recognized by the PACE program of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards Coming Soon: APTA Utah, APTA Colorado, APTA Arizona, APTA Connecticut, APTA Kansas, APTA Massachusetts, APTA Montana, APTA South Carolina, APTA Michigan, APTA Virginia, APTA New Hampshire, APTA Rhode Island, APTA Vermont, APTA West Virginia, APTA Nebraska, APTA Wisconsin, and more   Cancellation Policy: Participants may cancel their enrollment in the "Taping for Muscle Function & Pain Modification" online course within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided they have not accessed more than 20% of the course content.
