Corvette Shifter Reverse Lockout Pin.: 1964-1981

Restore and protect your classic Corvette's shifting action with the Corvette Shifter Reverse Lockout Pin (19641981). Crafted to integrate with the original shifter assembly, this pin is a practical, periodcorrect replacement that preserves the authentic driving experience of your vintage Vette. Why this matters Prevents accidental reverse engagement: The lockout pin works with the shifter detent to keep reverse gear out of play unless intentionally selected, reducing the risk of gear misshifts and gearbox strain during spirited driving. Preserves authentic feel: By matching the original lockout geometry, it maintains the classic shift sensation you expect from midcentury American performance cars. Simple maintenance for restorations: If you're restoring or maintaining a Corvette from 1964–1981, replacing a worn or missing lockout pin helps you keep the shifter operating as designed. Lowfriction operation: The pin is designed to ride smoothly within the shifter bore, supporting consistent detent action across years of use. Compatibility and use Fits Corvette manual shifters used in 1964 through 1981 models. Ideal for restoration projects, weekend drivers, and enthusiasts who value precise, reliable gear selection with their classic Corvette. Not compatible with later generations or nonstandard shifters without a reverse lockout mechanism. Installation tips Inspect the surrounding shifter housing for wear; replacing the lockout pin is a straightforward maintenance task that can help prevent misalignment and rough shifting. Use basic hand tools to seat the pin properly, ensuring the lockout mechanism engages cleanly with the detent. Invest in the reliability of your Corvette's shift system with this dedicated reverse lockout pin. It's a small part with a big impact on daily drivability, longterm reliability, and the overall driving feel of classic American performance.
