Corvette Accelerator Rod. 425: 1966

For the dedicated Corvette restorer, the Corvette Accelerator Rod. 425: 1966 provides an exact, period‑correct throttle linkage that preserves the car’s authentic driving feel. This critical connection between the accelerator pedal and the carburetor throttle translates every press into consistent, predictable engine response, exactly as the factory intended. Direct‑fit, period‑accurate geometry designed to match the original 1966 Corvette accelerator rod so pedal throw and throttle mapping stay true to factory specs. Robust, durable construction built to withstand the rigors of classiccar use while maintaining precise linkage over time. Authentic pedal feel and throttle response ensures smooth transitions from idle to wide‑open throttle, ideal for restoration projects and show‑quality builds. Easy installation with the standard mounting points and clevis connections you already use in your throttle linkage. Clear product identification as part 425, reducing guesswork during a restoration and helping you maintain historical accuracy on a 1966 Corvette. Why this matters In classic Vettes, the linkage precision between your gas pedal and the carburetor throttle defines driveability. A rod that doesn’t align with the original geometry can cause binding, uneven acceleration, or an inconsistent idle. The 1966 Corvette Accelerator Rod 425 is purpose‑built to prevent those issues, delivering a lift‑off feel that mirrors the original factory performance. Ideal use cases Restoration projects aiming to reproduce factory throttle behavior in a 1966 Corvette. Concours‑quality builds where authentic drive dynamics matter as much as the exterior finish. Throttle linkage refurbishment during carburetor tune‑ups or engine bay reconditioning. Installation and care tips Before installing, inspect the throttle lever, pedal assembly, and mounting brackets for wear. Fit the accelerator rod so that full throttle achieves the carburetor without binding, and ensure idle position is not inadvertently held open. After installation, perform a careful, low‑RPM throttle test to confirm smooth operation across the full range. If your restoration includes a carburetor upgrade or performance adjustments, verify the rod length and pivot locations still align with the new linkage geometry.
