Cortland C16 Super Braid

Prepare to elevate your line game with Cortland’s C16 Super Braid, the most advanced gel-spun fiber, hollow-core casting and trolling line available for saltwater fishing today. Crafted in Cortland, New York, it’s woven from 16 ultra-fine gel-spun polyethylene fibers, delivering a tight, round weave with uniform pick count. This ensures exceptional spool packing with no flattening or digging in—indispensable for smooth casting under pressure. Unmatched Sensitivity and Strength C16’s fine diameter reduces line drag when trolling or fighting big fish, while its 16-fiber structure offers outstanding resistance to nicks and abrasions during long, taxing battles. The gel-spun fibers impart virtually zero stretch, delivering ultra-responsive sensitivity and immediate hooksets that are essential when seconds matter. Durable Finish and Enhanced Handling Enjoy long-lasting performance with Cortland’s proprietary FiberTech® treatment—a unique penetration (not coating) that bonds to individual fibers, stiffening the braid and improving handling. Paired with ColorLast® technology for permanent, non-fading coloration, the line stays durable and slick—casting further and lasting longer without excess stiffness. Engineered for Seamless Splicing Thanks to its spliceable hollow-core construction, C16 allows fast and reliable end-loop or direct splicing to monofilament or fluorocarbon leaders. This makes it perfect for building wind-on leaders or connecting top shots quickly—without compromising strength or performance.
