Corosex pH Acid Neutralizer Filter Media

Corosex can correct acidic water conditions and render it less corrosive by neutralizing free carbon dioxide in water. On a per-weight basis, magnesium oxide can neutralize much more acidity than calcium carbonate (five times as much). This results in significantly reduced chemical usage for the same pH correction. pH correction and media consumption are affected by several water chemical variables. Corosex will slowly dissolve and need to be refilled as soluble to acidity. pH correction can cause hardness minerals to precipitate out, resulting in the solidification of the mineral bed. Upflow service is recommended when pH exceeds 5.0 grains per gallon. (Use an inline filter before the upflow service to prevent plugging the lower distribution screen.) As Corosex's magnesium oxide neutralizes the water, hardness can increase, requiring a softener to be used. Effectively combined the high-flow neutralization properties of Corosex and calcite's slower reacting low flow properties, reducing potentially high basic properties due to over-correction. Corosex is a highly reactive magnesium oxide, used most effectively where pH correction is substantial or high flow conditions are in use. Each bag is .66 cubic feet. This excellent pH-neutralizing media works terrific with our Acid Neutralizing Water Treatment System.
