This fundraiser has been approved by the Detroit Public Safety Foundation:  Detroit Public Safety Foundation 1301 3rd Street, Suite 547, Detroit, MI, 48226 Patti Kukula, Executive Director Email: info@detroitpublicsafety.org www.detroitpublicsafety.org ------ It is with heavy heart that we report the first death of a United States Police Officer, Captain Jonathan Parnell of the Detroit Police Department, due to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Not too long earlier, a 38 year old Dispatcher of the Detroit Police Department also succumbed to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  At this time, 100’s of law enforcement officers have been tested positive for COVID-19, while 1,000+ remain quarantined. We ask that every citizen pray for the safety of our first responders, medical personnel, and nation during this time. We remind the public that unlike community members, the concept of "social distancing" does not apply to our first responders, and first responders are now put in some of the most vulnerable positions.
