Corn Husk Bath Towel

Repeating geometric patterns stair-step across our plush Corn Husk Bath Towel, designed by Afro-Indigenous artist Mikailah Thompson (nimíipuu, African American). Mikailah has used patterns found in her community's imaaspalx (corn husk) bags, which historically carried all manner of items and today are used mostly for special occasions. "I really like the simplicity but boldness of this particular pattern," shares Mikailah, which is also available as a smaller, matching Corn Husk Hand Towel.  Both sizes—bath towel and hand towel—are available in three colors, and are reversible so they can match your style: hang them with the white side facing out for a subtle pattern in espresso brown, grapefruit pink, or sage green; or fold them with the colorful side showing to add a vibrant accent to your bathroom.  Plush and absorbent, not to mention authentically Native-designed, Eighth Generation's towels are the perfect merger of form and function. "Before what we made was considered 'art', it was simply our way of life and was what represented us as a people," says Mikailah. "Being able to see everyone's stories on everyday items continues our stories, generates discussion, and gives us a sense of pride for who we are."  Product details:  30 in x 60 in / 76.2 cm x 152.4 cm (confirm, and change for the hand towel size) 100% cotton Designed by Mikailah Thompson (nimíipuu, African American) Corn Husk Bath Towel and Corn Husk Hand Towels are sold separately White base thread with three color options: Espresso, a rich, toasted brown Grapefruit, a fruity, tropical pink Sage, a soft, dusty green Native designed in the USA; manufactured in India  Thank you for supporting Inspired Natives®, not "Native-inspired."
