About This Style Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variations, and surface treatments that simulate decades of wear. Distressed rugs undergo specific processes, such as overdyeing, which leaves ghost traces of original patterns beneath a saturated wash. Medallion rugs feature a dominant central motif—typically circular, oval, or diamond-shaped—which serves as the structural anchor for the classical Anatolian or Persian-inspired composition. Where It Works The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and living rooms. Its profile is layering-friendly and safe for use over underfloor heating systems. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed grey finish that highlights the intricate ghost-pattern textures. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of natural fibre alongside the moisture resistance and durability of polyester. — The flatweave construction ensures the rug lies perfectly flat, preventing tripping hazards and resisting shedding in busy environments. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Designed for high-traffic durability, this piece is an ideal choice for frequently used entryways or as a foundational layer in larger room settings.
