Zagreb Coreopsis

Coreopsis Zagreb, commonly known as Zagreb Tickseed, is a compact, clump-forming perennial prized for its vibrant golden-yellow blooms and finely textured, fern-like foliage. This sun-loving native plant lights up the garden from early summer through fall with cheerful daisy-like flowers that create a long-lasting display. Its upright habit and neat growth—typically reaching just 12 to 18 inches tall—make it ideal for the front of borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator-friendly planting schemes. Renowned for its drought tolerance and adaptability, Coreopsis Zagreb thrives in poor to average soils and handles heat and humidity with ease. It’s a favorite among low-maintenance gardeners due to its ability to naturalize in well-drained locations without becoming invasive. Once established, it requires little supplemental watering and resists common garden pests, including deer and rabbits. Butterflies and beneficial pollinators are drawn to its nectar-rich blooms, making it a valuable addition to any eco-conscious landscape. Zagreb Tickseed also excels in mass plantings, rock gardens, and containers, where its tidy mounding habit provides continuous color and seasonal charm. Deadheading spent flowers encourages even more prolific blooming, though it’s not necessary for plant health. Whether you’re designing a sunny perennial border or crafting a native wildflower meadow, Coreopsis Zagreb offers reliable performance, striking color, and undeniable garden value.
