Corbin | Chocolate Washed Canvas + Brown Leather

Corbin | Chocolate Washed Canvas + Brown Leather Canvas is more than fabric—it’s the foundation of R. Riveter. In our earliest days, every bag was built from military-issued shelter halves: rugged canvas tent pieces that symbolized strength, service, and resilience. We hand-dyed and stitched each piece, embracing the imperfections as part of the story. Today, our new Canvas Signature Collection carries that legacy forward—durable, structured, and refined with everything we’ve learned along the way. It’s a material rooted in history, reimagined for modern life. The Corbin is your hands-free on-a-mission backpack. The sleek and timeless design will keep you on trend and ready for action wherever life takes you. Whether you’re a new mom using this as a diaper bag, a student who is driven to succeed, or a stylish woman in need of a new type of bag, The Corbin will help you rise to the occasion and crush your goals. Intentionally crafted to fit your essentials like a glove, with exterior and interior pockets that organize accessories for work, travel and play – the Corbin is truly a handbag with function.  Convert the Corbin from a backpack with two adjustable straps to a messenger-style bag in seconds. Each R.Riveter handbag takes a journey across the country before arriving at your doorstep. Components are crafted by independent military spouses in their homes around the nation, and shipped to R.Riveter's FabShop to be assembled into a one-of-a-kind product. A nurse by trade, Corbin decided to join her husband during a battle, where they both fought alongside the hundreds of men battling the British troops. Though John was enlisted and Margaret was not. she had observed her husband shooting cannons. During battle, her husband fell in action, and Margaret bravely took his place at the cannon, and continued to fire until she was too seriously injured to continue. Corbin was hit in her jaw, chest and arm, and eventually had to surrender due to her injuries. She became the first woman to ever receive a military pension, and is buried at West Point Cemetery. The legacy Margaret Corbin left behind inspires bravery, confidence and adventure in each and every person who carries the Corbin backpack.  Canvas Care Suggestions:  When spot cleaning the canvas, we suggest using a brush or sponge with water only to wipe it off soiled area. We do not recommend using anything other than water as it could discolor canvas material.  Maintenance of R. Riveter Leather: We love using real genuine leather in our handbags because they just get better with age. If you happen to get scratches or water marks, you can usually get the bag looking new again with just a little maintenance. Please click here to read about how to care for your genuine leather.
