Spanish 4 — Recorded (No Live Interaction)

Spanish 4 — Recorded (No Live Interaction) Spanish 4 introduces students to gentle, thoughtful grammar instruction, following the method historically used in Charlotte Mason schools for the study of modern languages. In this level, students continue to grow in fluency and comprehension while beginning to notice how the language works, using our carefully translated and adapted version of Otto Siepmann’s Primary French Course—originally used in Charlotte Mason schools from the fourth year of French through high school, and thoughtfully adapted by our team for the study of Spanish. What We Use to Teach (Spanish 4) In Spanish 4, instruction is centered on: Our translation and adaptation of Otto Siepmann’s Primary French Course Short, structured grammar lessons presented within meaningful language Continued reading, oral practice, and narration Living examples rather than isolated drills Living books Grammar is introduced carefully and purposefully, always serving comprehension and expression—not memorization for its own sake. Our Teaching Philosophy Grammar is not taught as an abstract system, but as a tool for clarity and understanding. Lessons emphasize: Observation of language patterns Clear, simple explanations Application within real sentences Continued emphasis on spoken and written language together Confidence before correctness This approach reflects Charlotte Mason’s conviction that grammar should arise naturally from language already known and loved, rather than being taught prematurely. Flexible & Family-Friendly Because this is a recorded course, families may: Watch lessons on their own schedule Pause, replay, or review as needed Move more slowly or more quickly depending on readiness Use the course with more than one child in the home Junior high and high school students may benefit from adding the optional homework assignments (sold separately) for extended practice. What This Course Is Not Not rushed Not worksheet-heavy Not disconnected from living language Spanish 4 introduces grammar with care and purpose, maintaining continuity with the living, literary approach of earlier levels.
