Amy Rutilated Quartz & Black Onyx Ring Set in Sterling Silver

Golden lightning caught in glass, set against the deepest midnight. This black onyx ring set pairs a pear-cut rutilated quartz — threaded with fine golden rutile needles — ringed in a bright halo of simulated diamonds, then answers it with a matching band of glossy jet-black onyx. Both rings are crafted in solid 925 sterling silver with a luminous rhodium finish, a vintage-inspired engagement ring and wedding band made to be worn as one. Natural black onyx band Pear rutilated quartz Simulated diamond halo Solid 925 sterling silver Rhodium finish Matching ring set A study in light and shadow The design plays two moods against each other: the warm, animated glint of golden rutile inside the quartz, and the cool, absolute darkness of the onyx band beneath it. That contrast is what gives the pairing its vintage-yet-modern character — part heirloom, part statement. It sits comfortably alongside our wider black onyx engagement rings for anyone who wants a proposal ring with genuine edge rather than another clear solitaire. Worn together, the two rings read as a single sculpted piece; worn apart, each still stands on its own. The engagement ring Holds the pear rutilated quartz inside a sparkling halo of simulated diamonds — the luminous focal point and statement piece of the set. The matching band A sleek black onyx band that nests against the engagement ring to complete the set. It also wears beautifully solo, echoing our black onyx wedding bands. The natural black onyx band The band is set with natural black onyx, a form of chalcedony prized for its smooth, opaque, jet-black color and glassy polish. It sits around 6.5–7 on the Mohs hardness scale, giving it a firm, wearable durability, and its saturated darkness is exactly what makes the golden quartz above it glow. Onyx has long been the stone of grounding and quiet strength, which is part of why couples keep reaching for it — you can read more in our guide to black onyx meaning. If you love the deep, dramatic palette, our black onyx couples rings carry the same spirit. The rutilated quartz center At the crown sits a pear-cut natural rutilated quartz — clear quartz naturally shot through with slender golden needles of rutile, so no two stones are ever identical. Around 7 on the Mohs scale, it is a hard, everyday-friendly gem, and its warm metallic threads catch the light from every angle. The teardrop silhouette elongates the finger and gives the set its romantic, old-world silhouette. A brilliant simulated diamond halo A halo of simulated diamonds frames the quartz, adding a crisp ring of white fire that lifts the whole design and makes both the golden needles and the black onyx read even richer. It is a bright, budget-friendly way to add classic engagement-ring sparkle. Prefer a lab-grown diamond or moissanite upgrade instead? Message us — most of our designs can be tailored. Solid sterling silver with a rhodium finish Both rings are crafted in solid 925 sterling silver and finished with rhodium — the same precious metal used on fine white-gold jewelry. That rhodium layer gives each ring a bright, mirror-white luster and adds a protective shield that helps resist tarnish and everyday scratches, so the silver keeps looking freshly polished. Genuine sterling silver will not turn your skin green; that reaction comes from low-quality metals, not the real 925 used here. What this set symbolizes Black onyx speaks to protection, steadiness and rooted commitment, while rutilated quartz is long associated with clarity and illumination — light held within darkness. Together they make a quietly meaningful emblem for a partnership built to weather anything. For couples drawn to a darker, dramatic aesthetic, our edit of gothic wedding rings and dark-romance styles is full of inspiration, and our overview of black gemstones explains why onyx leads the pack. The band is set with natural black onyx, a genuine form of chalcedony known for its smooth, opaque, jet-black color and glassy polish. It is a real natural stone, not simulated. Does this come as a set? Yes — it includes the rutilated quartz engagement ring plus a matching black onyx band designed to nest alongside it. The onyx band can also be worn on its own as a wedding or stacking ring. What is the center stone? A pear-cut natural rutilated quartz — clear quartz threaded with fine golden rutile needles. Because the needles form naturally, every stone is one of a kind, so yours will share the same golden character with its own subtle pattern. What are the sparkling accent stones? The halo around the quartz is set with simulated diamonds (cubic zirconia) for a crisp ring of white sparkle. If you would prefer a lab-grown diamond or moissanite upgrade, reach out and we will tailor it for you. How durable is black onyx? Black onyx sits around 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, making it well suited to everyday wear with normal care. Avoid hard knocks and remove the rings for rough activities to keep the polish pristine. What metal is it made from? Both rings are solid 925 sterling silver, finished with rhodium for a bright white luster and extra protection against tarnish and scratches. What does the rhodium finish do? Rhodium is the same precious metal used to finish fine white gold. It gives the silver a mirror-bright, white-gold-like shine and adds a protective layer that helps the rings stay looking freshly polished. Will it turn my finger green? No. Genuine 925 sterling silver does not turn skin green; that reaction is associated with low-quality or fake metals, not the real sterling silver used here. Can it be worn as an engagement ring? Absolutely. The vintage-inspired halo and jet-black band make it a striking non-traditional engagement and wedding set for anyone who wants something darker and more distinctive. How do I care for the rings? Remove them before showering, swimming or applying lotions and perfumes, store them in the velvet box, and buff with a soft dry cloth to restore shine. Gentle care keeps the stones and the rhodium finish luminous. What size should I order? Select your ring size at checkout. If you are unsure or between sizes, contact us for guidance. Resizing is available and starts from a modest fee. Are the stones ethically sourced? Yes. All of our stones are ethically sourced and conflict-free, so you can wear your set with complete peace of mind. Does it arrive gift-ready? Every order ships in a free luxury velvet gift box and is backed by our lifetime warranty — ready for a proposal or to give as a keepsake.
