Oxidized splash copper. Native copper from Michigan is used to make these artistic freeform sculptures. Splash copper is made by pouring molten copper at 2300 degrees onto a flat surface. When the shape is cooled a green chemical patina is applied, then highlights are polished to expose the glowing copper underneath. The sculptures are then sealed to preserve the finish and prevent tarnishing. Amazing One Of A Kind copper display piece. A very nice specimen display stand is included.
