The Copper John is a fantastic searching pattern. In larger sizes, it perfectly represents a stonefly nymph, and as you work down in sizes it works amazing well as a March brown mayfly nymph, all the way to mahogany dun and BWO. With a full wire body and a tungsten bead head this pattern also gets down deep fast which is a great thing for swift moving rivers and streams.
