JADE Jade is the birthstone for March. Jade displays hues including green, white, pink, red, black, brown and violet. Over the centuries "the stone of heaven" ignited emotions, compassion and obsession of the powerful in Asia and caught the rich and famous of the West in the 19th century. In Antiquity, as well as in the Middle Ages people believed that the cosmos is reflected in gemstones. Jade is assigned to the planets Jupiter and Pluto. This gem is regarded as a symbol of the good, the beautiful and the precious. It embodies the Confucian virtues of wisdom, justice, compassion, modesty and courage. One test for genuine jade is to hold it up to a bright light. If possible, examine the internal structure with a 10X loupe. Can you see little fibrous or granular, felt-like, asbestos-like intertwinings? If so, it's probably genuine nephrite or jadeite. THESE ARE MADE WITH ROUGHED UP SURFACE...THEY ARE MEANT TO LOOK AS IF THEY HAVE BEEN KNOCKED AROUND AND USED FOR A LONG TIME MAYBE TOUCHED UP IN BETWEEN BATTLES AND ADDED MISCELLANEOUS MEMENTOS, NOT BRAND NEW LIKE YOU JUST BOUGHT THEM OFF A SHELF…IF THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU..
