Coping with Emotions

Coping with emotions means being able to understand and deal with feelings well. It often involves using simple methods to handle an emotion in a healthy way. This could involve noticing how one feels and using positive strategies like deep breathing, talking to someone, or taking a break to calm down The Coping With Emotions worksheet lets young people track and manage their feelings, guiding them to take care of their well-being. It features butterflies for each day of the month, along with a list of emotions and coping skills, each represented by a color. When children experience a certain emotion, they can color one wing of the butterfly and draw the coping skill they used on the other wing. This worksheet can help kids learn to control big feelings. Parents and teachers can team up to create a "calm down corner" at home and in the classroom, where young people can go to practice their coping skills when emotions run high. This space can include sensory tools like stress balls, soft music, or art supplies to help them self-soothe before returning to their activities. Our Managing Emotions with Coping Skills worksheets are a helpful resource for an additional coping skills activity. *This item is an instant digital download.
