Why You’ll Love the Coontie Drought-Tolerant Dynamo: Thrives on neglect and laughs in the face of dry spells. Perfectly Petite: Grows to a manageable 2–4 feet tall, ideal for small spaces or layering in mixed borders. Wildlife Magnet: A host plant for the rare Atala butterfly—your garden will be buzzing with life! Low-Maintenance Charm: No pruning or fussing required; just plant it and let it thrive. Where It Shines The Coontie thrives in sandy, well-drained soil and handles everything from full sun to partial shade. Use it to anchor a tropical landscape, line pathways, or as a sculptural centerpiece in containers. Indoors, it’s a conversation starter that thrives in bright, indirect light. Planting Tips Plant your Coontie in a spot with excellent drainage—wet feet are its kryptonite.
