Conch Shell Pendant

Conch are beautiful tropical marine mollusk with a spiral shell that may bear long projections and have a flared lip. Conch shells are much more elaborate than most other seashells and they’re well known known for their beautiful color, large size and porcelain-like feel and their distinctive pink hues.  Like oysters, Conch produce pearls these rare pearls are known for their pink color and unique patterns. Because conch pearls haven’t been successfully cultured, the only conch pearls on the market are those found naturally. Hence, these pearls are extremely rare and expensive. While conch pearls and shell are popular in jewelry and decorative items, the shell itself is a significant symbol in many cultures and religions. The conch shell is a symbol of water and is associated with female fertility, In Hindu scripture, the Conch Shell is called “Shankha”  and it is coveted and revered as the giver of fame, longevity, and prosperity, and is also the cleanser of sin.
