Compass Box Art & Decadence

Compass Box Art & Decadence is a whisky inspired by the lavish opulence of the Aesthetic and Decadent movements, celebrating art as an indulgence in beauty and pleasure. Just as artists of the era transformed every detail into an elaborate expression, Art & Decadence embodies the concept of excess and refinement with intricate layers of flavor. On the nose, rich aromas unfold with honey-drizzled figs, vanilla blossom, and whispers of sandalwood. As you sip, notes of ripe plums, dark chocolate, and caramelized nuts mingle with luxurious layers of orange zest and crème brûlée. The profile is plush, balancing warm spices with a gentle smokiness that evokes a golden decadence, much like the opulent interiors of the Victorian era. The finish is long, leaving traces of cinnamon and aged oak, like the lingering aura of a well-worn library or a room adorned with velvet and gold. The artistry of Art & Decadence extends beyond taste; its design, too, mirrors the aesthetic excesses of Oscar Wilde’s world—an homage to the era’s fascination with beauty for beauty’s sake. Compass Box invites you to experience whisky as an expression of art, a celebration of indulgence that demands to be savored sip by sip. TASTING NOTES Rich and aromatic on the nose with red apples, waxed wood and wine notes. Creamy, with a liquorice aroma. Banana, toffee and custard blended with Sauternes. On the palate, notes of dried fruit – golden raisin, apricot, apple and plenty of vanilla. Lingering flavours of dark chocolate and fragrant oak.
