Hens and chicks are the perfect tough plant for dry landscapes, and Commander Hay Hens and Chicks offers that toughness in a pretty, purple-ish package. These cabbage-purple rosettes feature bright green pointed tips. New offsets start in bright green, so you'll enjoy a parade of changing colors. Star-shaped flowers form in the center of each rosette. Rosettes drop off after flowering, but are quickly replaced by fresh "chicks." These short succulents are perfect for borders or planters, and look splendid in rock gardens. Mat-forming perennials are perfect for any dry landscape, and you'll love this fresh take on a classic.
