Who wrote it: The Columbia Encyclopedia, Third Edition, was edited by William Bridgewater and Seymour Kurtz and published by Columbia University Press. This single volume edition has a copyright of 1964. What it's about: Impressively dense and thorough, this encyclopedia packs an enormous range of subjects into one massive volume, from history and science to literature and mythology, illustrated throughout with engravings. It is the kind of reference book people used to build whole home libraries around. Special features: The book includes illustrated plates scattered throughout its thousands of entries, like the Hindu deity spread shown in the photos, adding visual interest to an already sprawling reference work. Condition: Hardcover; heavy single volume reference book with a moisture or stain mark on the top board and handling wear consistent with its size and age. Interior pages are clean. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions. Thanks so much for visiting, ❤️ Jess
