Color Nuggets Towels

Designed by Veronique Perrot for Handwoven, Summer 2026 and featured on the cover. Explore the colorful world of color-and-weave with the Color Nuggets Towels. This eye-catching project features 12 colors in the warp and a total of 20 colors throughout the project, creating towels that are full of movement and visual interest. Designed with paired stripes, the warp combines colors with both bold and subtle contrasts. As the weft colors interact with the warp, the woven pattern emerges, softens, and transforms across the fabric. Each towel offers a new combination of colors, making the weaving process engaging from beginning to end. Woven in soft, absorbent cotton, these towels are as practical as they are beautiful. Whether you're looking to expand your color-and-weave skills or simply enjoy weaving with a vibrant palette, the Color Nuggets Towels are sure to become a favorite on your loom. Weave structure: twill and color and weave Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 Cottons  The original design was woven using a combination of 8/2 cotton and 8/2 cottolin. This kit has been thoughtfully adapted using Aurora Earth 8/2 Cotton in colors carefully selected to closely match the original palette while providing the soft feel and beautiful drape of 100% cotton. Equipment needed: 8-shaft loom, 23" weaving width; 12-dent reed; 2 shuttles with 15-19 bobbins. Note: There are 19 weft colors total, including 14 colors that are used in more than one towel.
