Dominant notes of rich caramel and toasted vanilla bean intertwine with hints of dried apricot and brandied cherry. Underlying spiced oak emerges, balanced by a delicate floral whisper and a touch of sweet corn. There’s an almost buttery quality, hinting at its wheated influence or exceptional barrel selection. Palate: The palate arrives with a luxurious, velvety texture that coats the mouth beautifully. Initial flavors explode with a harmonious blend of dark brown sugar, maple syrup, and sweet pipe tobacco. Mid-palate, spicy rye notes gently surface, interplaying with candied orange peel, baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and a deep, aged oak character that is never overpowering. A subtle nuttiness and dark chocolate nuance add further complexity. Finish: Long, warm, and exceptionally satisfying. The finish lingers with echoes of sweet vanilla and caramel corn, gradually transitioning into a pleasant, drying oak spice. A faint wisp of leather and seasoned tobacco leaf persists, leaving a remarkably clean yet memorable impression that invites another sip. The 100 proof is perfectly integrated, providing warmth without harshness. About the Distillery The Colonel E.H.
