It’s time to stoke the orange and black flames—Go Beavs! Key Architectural & Performance Features 16-Gauge Cold-Rolled Steel Fabrication Cold rolling is a metallurgical process where steel is processed at room temperature, which significantly increases its yield strength and structural density compared to traditional hot-rolled alternatives. This 16-gauge thickness ensures the fire bowl maintains its geometric integrity under high-temperature thermal loads, preventing the warping or thinning that typically occurs in lighter-gauge, mass-produced consumer fire pits. This is "Beaver-tough" hardware built for years of service in the Pacific Northwest. Precision Cut OSU Iconography The Oregon State branding is achieved through precision cutting, creating clean apertures in the steel that serve a dual purpose. Beyond displaying your pride for OSU, these cut-outs act as critical ventilation ports, facilitating superior airflow to the fire bed. This results in more efficient wood combustion, reduced smoke output, and increased radiant heat for your guests during those crisp fall nights in Corvallis. Integrated Safety Ring and Handling System The safety ring is a 30-inch diameter steel perimeter fused to the main chassis that serves as both a physical thermal buffer and a mechanical lifting point. This structural element provides a cooler surface for users to rest their feet or grip the unit for manual transport, enhancing the overall safety and maneuverability of the fire pit from the back deck to the stadium parking lot. Stationary Welded Leg Architecture The leg architecture utilizes industrial-grade welding to permanently bond the support struts to the fire bowl, eliminating the need for mechanical fasteners like bolts or screws that can loosen or corrode over time. This creates a single-piece structural foundation that resists the vibration of transport and ensures a wobble-free experience on uneven terrain—from asphalt to backyard grass. Operational Suitability & Ideal Applications The Oregon State Fire Pit is optimized for mid-scale outdoor environments where portability and immediate utility are prioritized. Its 50-pound weight and 30-inch footprint are engineered for efficient transport in standard passenger vehicles or truck beds, making it the definitive choice for tailgating events, beach use, or camping trips. The 16-gauge steel construction is designed to sustain the thermal output of seasoned hardwoods or charcoal, providing an effective heat radius for groups of 4 to 10 individuals in open-air social settings. This unit is highly suited for users who require a durable outdoor solution without the necessity for technical assembly or complex maintenance. Its low-profile 16-inch height ensures stability on various surfaces, including grass, asphalt, and stone patios. The inclusion of a comprehensive accessory suite—featuring a spark screen, weather cover, and BBQ grill—ensures the unit complies with residential fire safety standards while providing the versatility needed for both atmospheric heating and outdoor food preparation. It is ready for gameday the moment it arrives. Technical Specifications Specification Attribute Technical Detail Bowl Diameter 24 Inches Safety Ring Diameter 30 Inches Overall Height 16 Inches Material Composition 16 Gauge Cold Rolled Steel Total Unit Weight 50 lbs Heat Source Seasoned Wood or Charcoal Standard Warranty 5-Year Structural (Burn-Through & Rust-Through) Included Components Poker, BBQ Grill, Spark Screen, Weather Cover Frequently Asked Questions What is the primary function of the Oregon State Fire Pit? The primary function of this unit is to provide a safe, portable, and team-branded environment for wood-burning fires and outdoor grilling. The 16-gauge steel bowl contains the fire bed effectively, while the integrated safety ring prevents accidental contact with the high-heat zone. When utilized with the included BBQ grill insert, the unit functions as a charcoal-ready cooking station for championship-level tailgating. Why choose a welded cold-rolled steel design over standard fire pits? A welded cold-rolled steel design is architecturally superior because it eliminates mechanical failure points like loose bolts and offers significantly higher heat resistance. Cold-rolling increases the density of the steel, making it more durable and resistant to burn-through compared to thinner, mass-produced fire pits found in big-box retail. This results in a more stable, longer-lasting product that performs reliably during frequent transport to OSU games. How does the 5-year warranty protect my investment? The 5-year warranty serves as a specific quality guarantee that the 16-gauge steel bowl will not burn through or fail due to rust during the first half-decade of use. This warranty mitigates the risk associated with outdoor heating equipment, which is often subject to intense thermal stress and environmental moisture. While the exterior develops a natural patina over time, the warranty ensures the physical structure remains sound and safe for operation.
