DESCRIPTION Resin coatings on wood panels | 2020 Gunji’s Collectivity series of wall sculptures examines the relationship between human nature and mother nature. Using brightly colored plastic resin over wood, Gunji uses these materials as metaphors; wood representing the natural world, layered in the bold colored plastic of capitalism. A few of the works in this series draw inspiration from the heads of birds, as Gunji examines the vibrant colors found in nature, then attempts to translate and abstract them through the work. Just as he can never truly replicate the natural world, capitalism can never fully exist in harmony with nature. DIMENSIONS 20 x 13 inches AUTHENTICATION Signed by artist.
