Our Women's Aran Button Up Collared Sweater is the kind of sweater that tells a story in every stitch! This knit sweater for ladies takes inspiration from the timeless Aran jumpers worn in Ireland for centuries by fishermen and their families. Did you know that these sweaters are not only beautiful but also imbued with cultural authenticity? Initially, these sweaters were knit by the wives and sisters of the fishermen to keep them warm and protected from the harsh Atlantic weather. At the same time, these thick stitches doubled as unspoken prayers for good luck at sea and a wish for safety. Our Irish sweater is built with the same age-old patterns, such as cable & basket, symbols of good fortune. This woman's collared sweater is crafted from 100% SuperSoft Merino wool in Ireland by skilled local artisans - made by Irish hands to last! SuperSoft Merino is a softer and finer version of regular Merino wool, suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Just like Merino wool, SuperSoft Merino is moisture-wicking, durable, and breathable, one of the most praised natural yarns in the knitting industry. What's not to love about it? Whether it's an Irish gift for her or a nice treat for yourself, this Aran sweater is a celebration of Ireland's timeless knitting traditions.
