Cold Spell

Cold Spell © John Sloane John says “In my painting, it’s the day after the big snow.  The generous farmer has sprinkled some birdseed on the path to the barn.  Some corn perhaps, or oats or sunflower seeds?  All are welcome by the hungry birds.  Every little bit helps! Just like us, by February, even wild birds are tired of a long cold winter.  It’s one of the most challenging months for wildlife.  They appreciate help to survive and thrive.  When we provide food, water and shelter to our feathered friends, everyone benefits.  The birds get much-needed support, and we enjoy their lively antics, beautiful colors, and cheerful song.  Plus ... it’s just plain fun!”
