Colander Bowl Set — 3 Nesting Sizes, Strainer with Bowl, Mint Green

A colander bowl set in three nesting sizes. Each size is two pieces: a perforated colander that lifts out, and a clear bowl that holds the water underneath. It is for anyone who washes berries, greens or grapes on the counter and does not want a sink full of water every time. The colander drains into the bowl, not onto the counter. This one drains into its own bowl, so you can rinse, soak and lift the produce out on the counter. The water stays in the bowl and goes down the drain when you are done. Can I use it to soak vegetables, not just rinse them? Yes. Fill the outer bowl, set the colander inside with your greens or berries, let them sit, then lift the colander straight out. The grit stays in the bowl. Does the colander bowl set come with lids? No. This is a 6-piece set of three colanders and three bowls. There are no lids, so it is for washing and draining rather than fridge storage. Is the plastic food safe and dishwasher safe? Both. The set is made from food-contact PET plastic and goes in the dishwasher. How much space does the set take up? All three sizes nest into the large bowl, so the whole set stores in a footprint of about 26 x 24.5 cm and 11.5 cm high. We keep the medium one by the sink for berries and the large one for a head of lettuce. The small one ends up holding grapes at the table more often than not. — Lisa, Strabella
