Coffee Break

Coffee Break by Migle Kosinskaite is a surreal conversation between elegance and absurdity. The anthropomorphic bird, upright and composed, holds a small cup with effortless grace. Its sharp beak and watchful eye contrast the soft pink background, while geometric patterns across its clothing anchor the scene in quiet sophistication. The painting feels like a satire of modern poise - where ritual and instinct, civility and nature, coexist in perfect composure. Kosinskaite’s technique unites restraint with detail. Every plane of the figure’s attire is a study in order, symmetry, and rhythm, yet the bird’s organic presence disrupts the harmony with living unpredictability. The muted palette and subtle light echo the stillness of a paused moment - the second between thought and sip, between observation and reflection. In Coffee Break, Kosinskaite turns an ordinary act into a meditation on being. The anthropomorphic figure, at once humorous and regal, becomes a symbol of human identity wearing its many masks. Together with Coffee Break II, the work creates a poetic diptych - two portraits of pause and irony, where the ritual of coffee becomes a metaphor for reflection, habit, and the absurd dignity of everyday life.
