Coastal Brew Deceiver - Bluff Rat

Elite tournament angler and Texas guide Capt. Wyatt Foster collaborated with Coastal Brew on this color, and he totally knocked it out of the park. The “Bluff Rat” pairs a dark, smoky black back with hints of black, purple, and gold flash and a color-shifting belly that changes from a transparent pearl to a wicked high-sheen purple/violet depending on perspective and ambient light. This color is truly a jack of all trades. It’s dark enough to use in dirty water, but not too dark to work in the clear stuff. Just a fantastic all-rounder that’ll always produce. It’s not the prettiest, and it’s not the most polite—but when the bite gets tough, the “Bluff Rat” is exactly the kind of bad decision big fish love to make. The Coastal Brew Deceiver has been engineered and refined for ultimate lifelike swimming action. Fitted with an extra-long tail and a flat, wide paddle, this bait is practically irresistible to predatory fish. Slow roll it, twitch it, burn it—do whatever you want, and this bait will step up to the occasion. The unique paddle profile allows it to swim insanely well on even the slowest retrieves, making it perfect for wary or pressured fish, cold conditions, and sight fishing. Speed it up and the Deceiver only paddles harder, delivering more thump, a faster pace, and an unmatched wide swing. It’s a true do-it-all paddle for just about any inshore scenario. Made from durable saltwater-grade plastic, these baits can take some abuse from even the toothiest inshore species. The Deceiver comes equipped with very shallow back and belly hook slots engineered for dependable weedless rigging, along with Coastal Brew’s iconic “CB” logo engraving. No durability-compromising deep hook slots that rip and tear. The Deceiver comes in a versatile 5.5-inch size—not too big, not too small, and suited for a wide range of situations. And, of course, every Coastal Brew Deceiver is scented with the brand’s signature coffee scent.
